Modern Slavery Policy.

Introduction

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. Slavery, forced labour, servitude, and human trafficking are types of ‘Modern Slavery’ – criminal activity that deprives victims of their liberty and usually involves financial and other exploitation.

TranslateAble has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery. We conduct our business fairly, ethically and with respect to fundamental human rights. We are committed to the prevention of all forms of Modern Slavery, both in our business and in our supply chains. We will not tolerate it.

We are also committed to ensuring transparency in our own operations and in our approach to combating modern slavery throughout our supply chains, in accordance with our disclosure obligations under the Modern Slavery Act.

We expect the same high standards from all our contractors, suppliers and other business partners.

This policy applies to all individuals who work for us or on our behalf in any capacity, including employees at all levels, directors, agency workers, agents, contractors, external consultants, third-party representatives, and business partners.

Our Commitment

TranslateAble is ultimately responsible for ensuring that this policy conforms with our legal and ethical commitments, and that anyone who contributes to our operation abides by it.

  • Our Anti-Slavery Officer is Julia Danmeri. They are responsible for this policy.

  • TranslateAble oversees implementing this policy on a regular basis, monitoring its usage and effectiveness, dealing with any questions about it, and reviewing internal control systems and processes.

  • All our freelancers are provided with TranslateAble’s Terms & Conditions andthey are paid in accordance with the law.

  • We comply with our legal obligations to ensure the health and safety of all ofour workers, including in relation to working hours, rest breaks and holidays.

Policies

TranslateAble operates the following policies for identifying and preventing slavery and human trafficking in our operations:

Whistleblowing Policy – we encourage anyone engaged with our business to report any suspicion of slavery or human trafficking without fear of revenge. We provide a confidential response to any enquiries made.

Code of Conduct – we abide by the Association of Translation Companies (ATC) and Event Supplier and Services Association (ESSA) codes of conduct.

Communication & Awareness

This policy is available for view via the TranslateAble website and is also incorporated in onboarding documents.

You must read and comply with this policy if you work for, or on behalf of us in any capacity.

Our zero-tolerance stance to modern slavery must be conveyed to all suppliers, contractors and business partners from the beginning of our commercial engagement with them and reinforced as needed subsequently.

Policy Breaches

Failure to comply with this policy may result in disciplinary action, including dismissal, or termination of the contract between you and us. It could also involve other legal steps being taken.
