TranslateAble Becomes an MSDUK Certified Ethnic Minority Business
TranslateAble is now an MSDUK certified ethnic minority business. We received our certification in July, and we're proud to add it to the credentials we hold as the only language agency dedicated to the events industry.
What MSDUK certification is
MSDUK is the UK's leading organisation for inclusive procurement, connecting ethnic minority-owned SMEs with major corporations through certification, networking and training, built on two decades of proven impact.
Its ethnic minority business certification is a globally trusted mark. To be certified, a business has to demonstrate that it meets rigorous standards of ethnic minority ownership and management. It's an independent verification, not a self-declaration.
It's worth being clear about what certification isn't. It doesn't confer preferential treatment, guarantee contracts or influence how a buyer chooses a supplier. Every procurement decision rightly rests with the buying organisation and should be based on capability, value and quality. What certification does is give buyers verified evidence of who they're working with.
Why it matters to corporate event managers

Diversity that comes with the territory
For us, this certification formalises something that has always been true of the business.
I grew up in a half Ukrainian, half Nigerian household, and a love of languages came with it. When I founded TranslateAble after 20 years in event operations, I built a team the same way I'd source for an international show: locally, wherever the event happens to be. Today our language professionals are based in the countries our clients are heading to, which makes us a naturally diverse company by design rather than by policy.
It also means we can walk the talk on the rest of our ESG commitments. In 2025, 100% of our onsite jobs were delivered using local interpreters and technicians, cutting travel emissions, supporting local economies and keeping client budgets down.
We believe in working with the best language professionals and in keeping them. That means paying fairly and on time, briefing properly and treating people with the respect their skill and experience deserve. Good people stay with agencies that look after them, and our clients see the benefit in the consistency of who turns up.
Standards we hold ourselves to
MSDUK certification sits alongside our memberships of the Association of Translation Companies (ATC) and the Event Supplier and Services Association (ESSA), two bodies through which we uphold the highest standards in both the language and events industries.
We're also a finalist for Sustainable Business of the Year, Company of the Year and Team of the Year at the ATC's Language Industry Awards 2026, which are announced in Glasgow on 22 October 2026.
Certification matters because it's independent. We've always been a diverse business, but now corporate event teams have verified evidence they can point to when they choose to work with us. It's one less thing for them to justify and one more way we can help them deliver events that reflect their organisation's values.
